From Harris & Adams to Adams Smash Repairs ... Without CONSENT

After being told by Col Adams that they did not work on my vehicle, i viewed the  last assessors report (Hunter Assessors) to find that this paperwork states that Adams Smash Repairs at Erina did the work.

10.00am I rang Adams Smash at Erina who transferred me to West Gosford after confirming ey did work on my vehicle.  I was then informed i would get a call back because Richard was over at the AMY office.

I received a call back from Richard at 11.05am who advised me that they could not send me the information requested because NRMA makes them sign agreements that says they are not allowed to give the customers the quote / invoices.

He said he would get the damage assessment off to my email, and after i advised him that the law requires he give me such inforamtion and not to supply would be committing an offence, he agreed to get his boss to call me tomorrow.

I DID NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES APPROVE ADAMS SMASH REPAIRS TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE.

I DID NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE PERMISSION FOR NRMA TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANY OTHER LOCATION WITHOUT MY EXPRESS PERMISSION.

Filling in Forms for the CTT - Motor Vehicles Division Application

This morning at 8.37 am on 26 August 2008  i rang Harris and Adams on 43246683 and a lady answered the phone.  I requested the information required by the forms and the lady refused to supply the information required being the ACN and Motor Vehicle Repairers License Number.

She then put me through to her boss Col Adams, which i then asked him for the information and after identifying myself and what vehicle I had, he refused to supply the information also.

Col Adams also stated "that he did not work on my car".

31 July 2008 - NRMA's next Assessor comes out...

The Assessor from Hunter ... sat in my vehicle from home to Lake Munmorah, i pointed out all the items wrong with the vehicle including the shocky's which were real rough. The vehicle squeaks and rattles all the time and drives rough. It also shudders upon accelleration and deceleration, makes creaking noises upon turning the steering wheel, which was clearly visible. We are also very unhappy with the gear changing as it now sometimes wont change gear when it should and vica versa.

I also pointed out where the vehicle was still crooked and his reponse was the same as the precvious assessors - that being "that's how they make them these days". A common response from assessors who aren't prepared to put their name on the line for fear of losing NRMA work.

He took no pictures of the crookedness of the vehicle, refused to take any interest in what i was saying and treated me like an embecile.

Please note that I rang both NRMA and the Assessor before he came out to request that he drive a brand new proton savvy so he would be qualified to make judgement on what was normal in my vehicvle and what was not.

The assessor refused to do this also, so as a consequence was not qualified to see what was wrong with the power steering, the suspension and basically the whole vehicle.

He drove the same distance home .

He's obviously on the NRMA payroll because his report was a crock of shit.

Rang NRMA Again Today ...

Firstly spoke to staff at customer relations who transferred me to a nice manager called Jill.  Jill's first idea was to transfer me to the Assessors department who i have repeatedly rang and told that the car still has many issues.

Issues Include:

  • Shock absorbers feel like a 40 year old 4wd
  • Power steering extremely heavy
  • Car shudders upon braking / slowing down and accellerating
  • There is a rattle in the front right that was nonexistent to the accident
  • The power windows do not work
  • There is a clunking in the braking system.
  • The list goes on
  • Petrol tank upon opening is totally crooked and now hits side panel upon use.

The assessor Bruce Fleming has repeatedly told me that he will not send anybody out to even look at the vehicle and has hung on me.   Jill said she would look into the situation and called me back later stating i had to talk to customer advocacy.

I explained the situation to customer advocacy RACHEL  (QLD) who then told me i had to follow the correct procedures.  Screw the correct procedures Bruce Fleming should have escalated the issue instead of ending the conversation without any resolution to the issue.  NRMA's issues with incorrect chain of command are not my problems and my issues should have already been registered with their advocacy department considering the matter is going on 3 months now.

Rachel from Customer Advocacy also stated that Bruce Fleming had just started to put notes into the system this afternoon.  None being there previously.

Photos of Savvy After Harris & Adams Were Told To Only Assess the Damage - NOT TO FIX.

  1. Both NRMA and Harris and Adams were told on more than 3 occasions NOT TO TOUCH MY VEHICLE.   The Office of Harris and Adams were told not to do any work to the vehicle as was the mechanics.
  2. Harris and Adams completely refused to give any information to me about the damage of my vehicle - insisting that they were "ONLY TRYING TO HELP ME".
  3. Harris and Adams were told under no circumstances were they to do any work on my vehicle - and 2. the fact that this is my vehicle and these mechanics were refusing to give me any inforamation about the damage.
  4. Both NRMA Assessors Mark Sawyer and Bruce Fleming were told under no circumstances was any work to be done on this vehicle until I had reports that i had requested and at least one report from a qualified mechanic / repairer who knew that no matter the damage report they would not be doing the work.  This was to ensure that the mechanic would not understate the massive amount of damage to see he would get a great profit in the repair of this vehicle.
  5. This was not done and my instructions were completely ignored.  Work was done on this vehicle by Harris and Adams because they had finally quoted the job and any assessor afterwards would be able to see they had understated the structural / mechanical damage.  This would have left Harris and Adams ina very precarious position with regards to the amount of vehicles they fix and put back unsafely on the road just to keep the dollars coming in.
  6. The amount of structural and mechanical damage has been covered up by both Harris and Adams and the Insurance Assessors of NRMA, however as the vehicle still has a lot of mechanical damage which NRMA are refusing to assess - it is still easy to see the damage left.
  7. Obvious Safety Issues with the Proton Savvy are :
    • Suspension and Shock System very unsteady - this vehicle feels like you are driving a 20 year old 4wd now.
    • When the vehicle accelerates it shudders for quite a long period.
    • When the vehicle is braking -  it makes a clunking sound from underneath the vehicle.
    • Power Steering is EXTREMELY HEAVY -Mechanics have stated there is something wrong with the power steering. NRMA Assessors refuse to do any more to the vehicle.
    • Power Window on the passenger side is not working.
    • Central Locking from the inside driver button does no longer work.
    • There is a major rattle / tick tick tick noise coming from the front drivers side of the vehicle.
